RCPB Scholarships

We provide, promote and invest in educational opportunities for residents of Kauai.
PP Terry Smith introduces Jacky Villanueva, Gracean Manuel, and Naomi Rivera, recipients of Poipu Rotary’s 2007-08 KCC Culinary Scholarships.
Homegrown Teachers is an 2 year program for credentialing teachers that live here on Kauai who would otherwise be unable to attend classes at UH on Oahu.

Nursing KCC

2 The Frances Dillon Memorial Scholarships are funded by a generous donation from Poipu Beach Rotarian Emeritus Dr. John Dillon for two nursing students at KCC based on need, academic standing and prospects of serving the Kauai community $4000 per student
Culinary KCC

3 These scholarships are for second year KCC Culinary students based on need and academic standing. $2000 per student
Homegrown Teachers

2 A new program with U of H. Adults are given the opportunity to get teaching creditials without leaving the island or their jobs. The hope is that once trained the teachers already have incentive to stay on island helping our kids. We are working with the Hanalei Club who is spearheading the drive to fund all 14 in the program. Homegrown Teachers $4000 per student
Southshore Community Scholarship (HCF)

1 Create a scholarship for Southshore Kauai students going to U of H after completing a KCC associates program. Often these kids do not have funding as freshman have. These kids have shown that they are serious about their college career. $2000 per year for two years
HRYF Sullivan Scholarships

Community Adult Educational Grants

unk Create a grant program for working adults to further their education by taking college or vocational classes that will improve their skills in the workforce such as a class in accounting/bookkeeping or special educational needs. (HCF promoted) $500-$1000 per grant.
Special local grants
(proposed)
For special programs such as Future Flight in the summer, traveling Bishop Museum or possibly special camps or programs that will help students gain knowledge and understanding of others.
Kauai High Academies Scholarships

4 Kauai High School has 4 internal Academies serving the future of vocational needs here on Kauai. Each Academy serves a particular vocation such as Tourism & Hospitality, Healthcare, Business and Agriculture. The Academies operate as clubs. The RCPB want these motivated kids to decide who will be the recipient of each award within their own academy. $250 each
